98th Support Group Unit Crest

98th Support Group Unit Crest

The 98th Support Group Unit Crest, also known as the 98th Area Support Group DUI, is a distinctive U.S. Army unit insignia featuring the motto “SUPPORTING EXCELLENCE.” This military crest represents the group's logistical support mission and its role in providing essential services to Army personnel and military organizations.

The 98th Area Support Group was associated with U.S. Army operations in Würzburg, Germany, including its facility at Faulenberg Kaserne. The group was later inactivated in 2005 and reflagged as the U.S. Army Garrison Franconia. These historical connections make the crest a valuable addition to collections focused on U.S. Army units stationed in Germany and overseas support operations.

This Army unit crest is also referred to as a Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI). Unit crests are commonly collected by veterans, former service members, military historians, and insignia enthusiasts. The 98th Support Group crest is suitable for military displays, shadow boxes, historical collections, and uniform-related memorabilia.
