This is the official shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), worn on the left shoulder of the U.S. Army OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) uniform. Known worldwide as the Screaming Eagles, the 101st Airborne Division is headquartered at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and is the only air assault division in the United States Army.

The 101st specializes in air assault operations — inserting combat forces deep into enemy territory by helicopter in a single period of darkness at distances up to 500 nautical miles.
Combat Patch — Right Shoulder Wear:
Veterans and soldiers who deployed under the 101st Airborne Division during combat operations including Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and other named operations are authorized to wear this patch permanently on the right shoulder of the OCP uniform as a combat service identification badge.
