Gold Antarctica (Wintered Over) Device

The Antarctic Device, also known as the 'Wintered Over' Device, is awarded by the U.S. military to Antarctic Service Medal recipients who have completed one or more winters stationed in Antarctica. This disk-shaped attachment is worn on the medal ribbon and comes in bronze for one winter, gold for two winters, and silver for three or more winters of service.
