Army Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon
The Army Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) is bestowed upon units exhibiting exceptional heroism in combat against an armed adversary. Criteria dictate that the unit must showcase remarkable gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps while accomplishing its mission under extraordinarily challenging and perilous circumstances, distinguishing it from other units in the same campaign.
Initially designated as the Distinguished Unit Citation, the name was altered on November 3, 1966. Subsequent awards of the citation are denoted by the addition of an Oak Leaf Cluster device on the service ribbon.
