Army Commendation Medal Ribbon
Criteria: The Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) is a mid-level commendation granted for ongoing acts of heroism or meritorious service. Local commanders are responsible for conferring this award, providing room for a broad interpretation of the criteria meriting its presentation. In instances where actions involve immediate contact with an enemy force, the Valor device is sanctioned as an attachment to the decoration. The ARCOM is commonly bestowed upon enlisted members and junior officers as a concluding award at the end of their tour. Further recognitions are indicated by the inclusion of oak leaf clusters.
