Administered exclusively by the U.S. Army and Air Force (excluding Department of Defense awards), the Oak Leaf Cluster device is a prestigious symbol used to signify subsequent awards for specific military decorations. Each Oak Leaf Cluster indicates the number of decorations received, with Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters awarded for the second and additional honors. When a service member reaches six awards, a single Silver Oak Leaf Cluster is presented, replacing what would have been five Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters.
