Vietnam Campaign with Date Bar Ribbon
The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (VCM, VNCM) was a commendation bestowed by South Vietnam to honor members of allied forces who served in the Vietnam War for a minimum of six months. Individuals wounded, captured, or killed in action received the medal automatically, irrespective of their length of service. The accompanying "1960 Bar" device signifies the years of the war's duration, although no official end date was designated after the conquest of South Vietnam by North Vietnam in 1975, leading to the cessation of the Republic of Vietnam's government.
