Philippine Liberation Medal Ribbon - World War II
The Philippine Liberation Ribbon is awarded for participation in the liberation of the Philippines from Oct. 17, 1944, to Sept. 3, 1945. Eligibility includes involvement in the initial landing operations on Leyte or adjoining islands from Oct. 17 to Oct. 20, 1944. Personnel are considered participants if they landed on Leyte or adjoining islands, were on ships in Philippine waters, or were crew members of airplanes flying over Philippine territory during the period. Eligibility also extends to those engaged in any enemy encounter during the Leyte campaign, either on land or in the air.
