Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Full Size Medal

The Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (NCM) is a decoration bestowed by the United States Department of the Navy upon members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps for exceptionally heroic acts, outstanding achievements, or commendable service not recognized by a higher award. If the medal is awarded for actions during active combat, the "Valor" or "V" device is authorized. Additional awards are represented by silver and gold stars worn on the ribbon.
