Navy Expeditionary Full Size Medal

The Navy Expeditionary Medal (NEM) is awarded by the United States Navy to recognize members who have landed on foreign shores and participated in operations against enemy forces or in missions deemed worthy by authority. It is retroactive to February 12, 1874. If a service member qualifies for both the Navy Expedition Medal and the Armed Forces Expedition Medal for the same event, they must choose one medal. Subsequent awards are indicated by Service Stars on the ribbon.
