Navy Arctic Service Ribbon

Eligibility Guidelines:

The Navy Arctic Service Ribbon (NARCS) is a distinction bestowed upon Navy personnel who complete 28 days of service (consecutive or non-consecutive) above the Arctic Circle. It is also available to qualified civilians and other U.S. Armed Forces members engaged in the specified service while collaborating with the U.S. Navy. Individuals stationed at remote ice camps or divers working beneath the ice can count two days of service for each day worked.

Established in May 1986, the ribbon can be retroactively granted to individuals who performed the qualifying service after January 1, 1982. This award is a one-time issuance, and there are no authorized devices to be worn on the ribbon.
