Join or Die

Crafted in 1754, this rendition of Benjamin Franklin's renowned Join, or Die symbol served as a rallying cry to unify the 13 Colonies during the French and Indian Wars. Along the bottom of the print, a concise historical account spans from the symbol's creation to the modern day. The accompanying text reads: "In 1754, Benjamin Franklin originated the now-famous Join, or Die symbol for his newspaper, the Pennsylvania Gazette. The drawing aimed to prompt the British-ruled 13 colonies to unite against the increasing threats from the French and Indians, who had aligned themselves against the British. In an ironic turn 12 years later, Franklin published the symbol again during the American Revolution. This time, it became a rallying cry for the 13 colonies in their quest for freedom and independence from British tyranny. Eighty years later, it resurfaced during the Civil War. Over 250 years, the image has undergone edits, paintings, and resketches, yet its message remains consistent: inspiring Americans of every race, color, and creed to unite in preserving America as 'the land of the free and the home of the brave.' God bless the USA. The print is available in three art choices: white, black, and tea-stained."
