Airman's Mini Medal

The Airmans Medal for Heroism is awarded to U.S. Air Force service members who display acts of heroism, primarily involving voluntary life-risk, but not in combat situations. It doesn't require the saving of a life or the success of the heroic act. Established in 1960, it is analogous to the U.S. Army's Soldier's Medal, which Air Force personnel were eligible for from 1947 to 1959 before the creation of a distinct Airman's Medal.
