Air Force Good Conduct Full Size Medal
The Air Force Good Conduct Medal (AFGCM) is awarded to enlisted personnel of the U.S. military (excluding U.S. Air Force personnel after 2006) for completing three consecutive years of "honorable and faithful service." This service requires a standard enlistment without non-judicial punishments, disciplinary infractions, or court martial offenses. If an offense occurs, the three-year mark resets, and an additional three years of discipline-free service are needed for accreditation. Created on June 1, 1963, the AFGCM was discontinued in October 2005, as good conduct became presumed standard and not deemed an exceptional occurrence. Additional decorations for the AFGCM are indicated by oak leaf clusters.
