Afghanistan Campaign Award Ribbon

The Afghanistan Campaign Medal (ACM) is presented to military personnel who have actively served within the borders of Afghanistan, either for a continuous period of 30 days or a cumulative non-consecutive period of 60 days. This medal's eligibility is retroactive to October 24th, 2001. Notably, individuals engaged in combat or wounded in combat with enemy forces qualify for the medal regardless of the duration of their presence in Afghanistan. Additionally, personnel who lose their lives in action while serving in Afghanistan are posthumously awarded the ACM.
