1st Armored Division Unit Crest (Old Ironsides) 

Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI), commonly known as "Unit Crests," are unique to each U.S. Army unit. The insignia's design is derived from the authorized coat of arms for the unit. All personnel within the organization wear the insignia, excluding general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Enlisted personnel affix the crests to the green service uniform's shoulder loops, while officers center them on their shoulder loops. Enlisted personnel are not permitted to wear the unit crest on the Class A uniform. Officers align the crest with specific guidelines for proper placement.
