173rd Airborne Brigade Unit Crest (Sky Soldiers)

Distinctive Unit Insignia, commonly known as Unit Crests, are specific to each U.S. Army unit, deriving their design from the authorized coat of arms. All personnel within the organization wear these insignias, except for general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Enlisted personnel affix unit crests to the green service uniform coat, centered on the shoulder loops equidistant from the outside shoulder seam to the button's edge, with the base toward the outside shoulder seam. Enlisted personnel are not permitted to wear the unit crest on the Class A uniform. Officers center the unit crest on the shoulder loops, equidistant from the inside edge of their grade insignia to the button's outside edge, with the base toward the outside shoulder seam.
