The Basic Veterinarian Badge recognizes a service member’s role and expertise in the Air Force veterinary specialty.

Key Features:

• General Officers: Wear the basic badge upon entering a headquarters or command position and upgrade every 12 months.
• Officers: Start with the basic badge after technical school, progress to the senior badge after 7 years, and earn the master badge after 15 years in the specialty.
• Enlisted Personnel: Wear the basic badge after completing technical school, achieve senior status after the 7-skill level, and earn the master badge after 5 years as a master sergeant.
