The United States Air Force Senior Meteorologist Badge is an esteemed occupational badge awarded to service members specializing in meteorology within the Air Force. Criteria:

  • General Officers: Wear the basic badge upon entering a headquarters staff or command position. After 12 months, they advance to the next higher-level badge and continue to upgrade annually.

  • Officers: Officers earn the basic badge after completing technical school or attaining a fully qualified Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). After 7 years of service in the meteorology specialty, they qualify for the senior badge, with the master badge awarded after 15 years in the specialty.

  • Enlisted: Enlisted personnel wear the basic badge after completing technical school. Upon receiving the 7-skill level, they earn the senior badge, and the master badge is awarded after 5 years as a master sergeant or above.
