The United States Air Force Senior Meteorologist Badge is an esteemed occupational badge awarded to service members specializing in meteorology within the Air Force. This badge recognizes the advanced skills and expertise required to support and conduct meteorological operations, ensuring accurate weather forecasting, analysis, and support for Air Force missions.

Criteria:

• General Officers: Wear the basic badge upon entering a headquarters staff or command position. After 12 months, they advance to the next higher-level badge and continue to upgrade annually.

• Officers: Officers earn the basic badge after completing technical school or attaining a fully qualified Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). After 7 years of service in the meteorology specialty, they qualify for the senior badge, with the master badge awarded after 15 years in the specialty.

• Enlisted: Enlisted personnel wear the basic badge after completing technical school. Upon receiving the 7-skill level, they earn the senior badge, and the master badge is awarded after 5 years as a master sergeant or above.
