Criteria:

General Officers: Wear the basic badge upon entering a headquarters staff or command position. After 12 months, they advance to the next higher-level badge, with annual upgrades.

Officers: Officers earn the basic badge after completing technical school or attaining a fully qualified Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). After 7 years in the missileman specialty, they are eligible for the senior badge, with the master badge awarded after 15 years.

Enlisted Personnel: Enlisted personnel wear the basic badge after completing technical school. The senior badge is awarded after receiving the 7-skill level, and the master badge is given to those at the master sergeant rank or above, with 5 years of experience after the 7-skill level.
