Silver Wreathed E Device

The Silver Letter 'E' Device, commonly referred to as the Battle 'E' Device, is awarded by the U.S. Navy along with the Battle 'E' Ribbon to recognize personnel on permanent duty aboard ships, squadrons, or units that have excelled in battle efficiency competitions.

This device is awarded for up to three presentations of the Navy 'E' Ribbon, with additional devices pinned to the original award ribbon. Upon the fourth presentation, a Silver Wreathed 'E' Device is awarded, replacing the previous three devices on the ribbon. After the fourth award, no further 'E' devices may be displayed on the uniform.
