The Army Diver Badge, created in 1944, is awarded to Staff Sergeants who meet strict qualifications for military occupational specialty (MOS) 21D30, the Army Diver program.

• Award Criteria: Must complete the Basic NCO Course for MOS 21D30 (Phases I, II, and III) within three years of attaining the Staff Sergeant rank, maintain CPR certification, meet physical fitness standards, and maintain active diver qualification.
• Badge Types: The Army Diver program includes several badges: Salvage, Second Class, First Class, Master, and Special Operations Diver Badges.
• Special Operations Diver Badge: Renamed and redesigned on September 17, 2004, this badge features sharks symbolizing speed, stealth, and lethality, and includes two Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knives representing World War II OSS heritage.
