Prisoner Of War (POW) Full Size Medal

The Prisoner of War (POW) Medal is an honor bestowed by the United States Armed Forces upon military members who have been captured or held captive by opposing forces since April 5, 1917. Eligibility requires the individual to exhibit exemplary character during captivity. Additional awards of the Prisoner of War Medal are indicated by Silver Stars attached to the service medal.
