NATO Article 5 Active Endeavour Medal Ribbon
The NATO Article 5 Active Endeavour Medal is awarded to individuals who took part in the NATO-led operation in the Mediterranean Sea or airspace following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Eligibility requires membership in NATO STANAVFORMED or STANAVFORLANT, components of the Standing Naval Force (SNF), with a service duration of 30 days between October 26, 2001, and a yet-to-be-determined date. While the medal may feature an Article 5 clasp, U.S. military regulations prohibit wearing the medal and clasp together. Additional NATO mission participation awards may be denoted by a bronze service star on the original ribbon.
