The United States Master Air Force Pilot Badge is a prestigious award that signifies a service member’s exceptional skills and advanced proficiency in aviation. This occupational badge is earned by Air Force personnel who demonstrate excellence and leadership within their specialty, marking their distinguished role in the Air Force’s aviation operations.

Badge Criteria:

• General Officers: Upon entering a headquarters staff or command position, general officers wear the basic badge. After 12 months, they progress to the next higher-level badge, continuing to advance annually.

• Officers: Officers receive the basic badge upon graduation from technical school or upon qualification in their Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). After 7 years of service in the specialty, they are eligible for the senior badge, and after 15 years of experience, they are awarded the master badge.

• Enlisted Personnel: Enlisted members earn the basic badge after completing technical school. The senior badge is awarded after achieving the 7-skill level, and the master badge is awarded to those who reach the rank of master sergeant or higher, with 5 years of experience following the award of the 7-skill level.
