French Croix De Guerre Medal - WWI Ribbon
The French Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) is a French military decoration often granted to foreign military forces. Established in 1915, it can be presented either as a unit or individual award for outstanding service and acts of heroism in combat against the enemy. In the U.S. military, confirming this award is challenging, as foreign honors were not routinely recorded after World War II, and the 1973 fire at the National Archives added further difficulty.
