The Expert Soldier Badge (ESB) is a distinguished badge of the United States Army, awarded to soldiers who demonstrate exceptional competence in their specific military occupational specialties (MOS), as well as overall combat readiness. It was introduced on June 14, 2019, and entered service in October 2019, with the goal of recognizing non-infantry, non-combat medic soldiers who excel in their roles and combat capabilities.
