Coast Guard Restricted Duty Ribbon
The Coast Guard Restricted Duty Ribbon (CGRDR) is awarded to U.S. Coast Guard members upon successful completion of an "unaccompanied" tour of duty. Such tours, lasting one to two years, prohibit service members from being accompanied by their dependent family members. These assignments often occur in combat zones, Greenland, or the Arctic. Additional recognitions are indicated by the inclusion of Bronze Service Star devices.
