Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation

The Meritorious Unit Award (MUA) in the Coast Guard acknowledges commendable efforts by organizations within the United States Coast Guard, highlighting their exceptional service, heroic deeds, or valorous actions. Established in 1973, recipients of multiple awards can display a 5/16th of an inch Gold Star device on the service ribbon. Furthermore, an Operational "O" device may be authorized in specific situations.
