American Defense Medal Ribbon

The American Defense Medal - WW II (ADSM) is awarded to military personnel who served between September 8, 1939, and December 6, 1941. U.S. Army personnel must have actively served for a minimum of one year within this timeframe. Meanwhile, members of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Marine Corps receive the ADSM for any duration of active service during the eligible period.
