71st Cavalry Regiment Unit Crest (Gallantly Forward)

The 71st Cavalry Regiment wears these unique unit insignia (DUI), bearing the motto "Gallantly Forward." The lion emblem signifies traits of aggression and martial prowess. Initially approved for the 701st Armored Infantry Battalion in 1952, it was later reassigned to the 71st Cavalry Regiment in 2004. Unit crests are displayed on the Army Class A Service Green and Army Service Uniform (ASU).
