Distinctive Unit Insignia, commonly known as Unit Crests, are specific to each U.S. Army unit and affixed to the shoulder loops of the green service uniform. They are worn by all personnel, excluding general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Officers center the unit crest on shoulder loops, aligning it with their grade insignia on the outside edge of the button, with restrictions on wearing them on the Class A uniform.
