Unit Crests, officially termed Distinctive Unit Insignia, are unique to each U.S. Army unit, derived from authorized coat of arms designs. All personnel within the organization wear these insignias, excluding general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Enlisted personnel position unit crests on the green service uniform coat's shoulder loops, while officers center them on the shoulder loops of the Class A uniform, aligned with their grade insignia.
