409th Support Battalion Unit Crest (Quality Service First)

Unit Crests, officially termed Distinctive Unit Insignia, are unique to each U.S. Army unit, derived from the authorized coat of arms. Worn by all personnel within the organization, excluding general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Enlisted personnel affix them to the shoulder loops of the green service uniform coat, centered equidistantly from the outside shoulder seam to the outer button edge, with the base toward the outside shoulder seam. Officers center the unit crest on the shoulder loops, equidistant from the inside edge of their grade insignia to the outside edge of the button, with the base toward the outside shoulder seam. The Class A uniform does not permit enlisted personnel to wear the unit crest.
