409th Regiment Unit Crest (Steadfast)

This item is the unit crest, also known as the distinctive unit insignia, for the 40th Regiment. The unit's motto, "Steadfast," is inscribed on the bottom scroll. The shield's blue color pays homage to the Infantry Corps. The copper-colored star is derived from Arizona's state flag, reflecting the unit's base location. Additionally, the cactus emblem, synonymous with Arizona, is adapted from the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 103rd Division, the unit's originating division. All personnel, excluding high-ranking officials, proudly wear these distinctive unit insignias, prominently displayed on both the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and Army Service Uniform (ASU).
