III (3rd) Corps Artillery Unit Crest (Strike for Freedom)

Unit Crests, officially termed Distinctive Unit Insignia, are unique to each U.S. Army unit. Although commonly called "Unit Crests," the design is derived from the unit's coat of arms. All personnel in the organization wear the insignia, except for general officers, the Sergeant Major of the Army, and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman. Enlisted personnel place the unit crests on the green service uniform coat, centered on the shoulder loops at an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the button's outer edge, with the base facing the outside shoulder seam. Enlisted personnel are not authorized to wear the unit crest on the Class A uniform. Officers wear the unit crest centered on the shoulder loops, equidistant from the inside edge of their grade insignia to the button's outer edge, with the base toward the outside shoulder seam.
