Unit Crests, officially termed Distinctive Unit Insignia, are unique emblems for each U.S. Army unit, commonly known as "Unit Crests." Derived from the authorized coat of arms, all personnel in the organization, excluding high-ranking officers, wear the insignia. Enlisted personnel position unit crests on the green service uniform coat's shoulder loops, while officers wear them centered on the loops, maintaining specific alignments with their grade insignia.
