189th Regiment Unit Crest (Honoris Custos)

The distinctive unit insignia (DUI) worn by the 189th Regiment features the motto "Honoris Custos." Initially approved for the 189th Field Artillery, the red shield symbolizes its origins. Over time, it has been re-designated, with its latest designation being for the 189th Regiment, Oklahoma Army National Guard, in 1997. Unit crests are worn on the Army Class A Service Green and Army Service Uniform (ASU).
