143rd Field Artillery Group Unit Crest (Steel and Honor)

The distinctive unit insignia (DUI) worn by the 143rd Field Artillery Group features the motto "Steel and Honor." The symbolism on this crest commemorates its involvement in four WWII campaigns. Initially approved for the 143rd Artillery Group in 1969, it was redesignated for the 143rd Field Artillery Group in 1972. Unit crests are worn on the Army Class A Service Green and Army Service Uniform (ASU).
