Officers: Officers are awarded the basic badge after completing technical school or achieving a fully qualified Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). After 7 years of experience in the missile operations field, officers earn the senior badge, with the master badge awarded after 15 years in the specialty.

Enlisted Personnel: Enlisted airmen earn the basic badge after completing technical school. The senior badge is awarded after achieving the 7-skill level, and the master badge is granted to master sergeants or higher, with 5 years of experience following the 7-skill level.
