The Senior Astronaut Badge is awarded to USAF rated officers who have completed at least one operational space mission and are qualified to perform duties in space (50 miles or more above Earth).

Key Features:

• Specialty Design: Features the astronaut symbol (shooting star) overlaid on the officer’s specialty wing, such as Pilot, Navigator, or Flight Surgeon.
• Award Criteria: Given to officers who have successfully completed at least one operational space mission.
• Badge Requirements: Follows the same requirements as the Senior and Command pilot badges.
